We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, through his Holy Spirit, appoints men to offices of Leadership in His churches. Our leadership team recognizes that appointment, rejoices in, and rests on the absolute sovereignty of God. These men realize that they are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and desire to devote themselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal at Redeemer Church is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Joe Griffo
Pastor, Redeemer Church of South Hills
Pastor Joe was raised in Bethel Park, PA. When he came to saving faith in 1990, a friend took him to a church where the Word of God was faithfully and thoroughly preached. Two monumental events occurred at that church – Joe met his wife, and he was led to pursue the gospel ministry full-time.
Joe and Laura were married in April 1992. That fall, Joe enrolled as a student at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh. After graduating in 1997, Joe moved his young family to San Diego, CA, where he served as Pastor of San Diego Reformed Presbyterian Church. He accepted a call to be the Pastor of Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church in 2000.
Over the years in ministry, the Lord began to show the Griffos the need for marketplace ministry in the U.S. This ‘homeland missionary’ mindset brought them back to Pittsburgh in October 2007. Joe had been asked to join the staff of a local congregation where he would minister to unchurched individuals in the community. The position in the church did not continue, and Joe moved to another short-term staff job at another church.
Since 2015, Joe is pastoring Redeemer Church of South Hills. Joe and Laura continue to pray for the opportunity to build a vibrant comprehensive ministry in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. They are seeking the Lord’s leading as they wait on Him.
Joe lives with his wife and children in Pleasant Hills.
