Salvation — All of Grace, All of God
Jesus’ teaching on salvation in John 6 is abundantly clear: not one person is able to be saved unless God has chosen them; every single person who belongs to God has absolute, perfect assurance of their salvation in Christ.

    The Bread of Life
As we look through John chapter 6, we see Jesus claim to be the exclusive savior, the only one who can truly satisfy us. The only thing that gives true assurance is faith in Jesus Christ.

    In Plain Sight
When Jesus establishes who he is, he does so on the authority of the Old Testament Scripture. As we look at some of the Old Testament, it is clear that all of it points to Christ; however, in order to see it and truly put faith in Christ, the sinful heart must first be changed. The Bible must shape our worldview, not the other way around.

    Self-Disclosure
In just a few verses in John chapter 5, Jesus establishes his authority and tells us so much about who he is: he claims to be of the same nature as God, equal in power with God, and equal in authority with God.

    Confrontation…Frustration
John 5:1-17 demonstrates to us two flavors of unbelief with which we are familiar. With the healed invalid, we see someone so near the truth, but lukewarm to it, with no conviction or true faith. The Pharisees demonstrate a legalism that seeks to work so hard at getting to God, that it results in pride, and a rejection of God. As Christians, we rest in the grace of God in fulfilling the law for us, and we do not back down from confrontation or opposition.

    Gospel Transformation (Continued)
We can learn much from the story of Jesus’ encounter with the woman of Samaria, including the consequences that we see when a person comes to Christ. We find that the gospel forces us out of our comfort zone, that we are completely freed from our shame, and that nothing is more important to us than Jesus.

    Bethlehem
Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem, fulfilling a 700 year old prophecy, should give us great confidence in God’s perfect sovereignty, and also is a beautiful reminder of God’s promise of hope in the midst of judgment.

    Good News, Great Joy
The incarnation of Christ has innumerable implications. In it, Jesus is seen as the savior, the chosen Messiah, and the supreme Lord over all things. We also see the fact that nobody is good enough to not require a savior, and also that nobody is bad enough to be disqualified from receiving the gift of salvation. The call is to repent of our sin and trust in our living Savior.

    Gospel Transformation
In a more detailed look at Jesus’ encounter with the Woman at the well, we see several key characteristics of the gospel. It is the only offer of life and it confronts us in our sin. However, it also goes on to pay the price for our sin, and even changes our lives.

If You Knew The Gift of God
An introduction to the familiar episode of Jesus and the Woman at the Well. Several elements jump out: God’s sovereign ordination of this encounter, Christ’s dual natures, the Samaritan woman’s need for Christ, and the global, barrier breaking purpose of the gospel.

    I Must Decrease
Christianity challenges our natural ideas of success and gain - consistent Christian living must result in our decrease. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we must be made nothing, so that people would see not us, but Christ in us.

    For God So Loved…
One of Scripture’s most famous passages is John 3:16, and it is packed with depth. Not only do we see the atonement as perfect evidence of God’s love for His people, but we also get insight into Christ’s authority and His work in salvation.

    You Must Be Born Again
In our sin and in our pride, we would like to think that we have some part in our salvation.  Jesus teaches that the opposite is true - being born again is all of grace and is all of God.  We don't have the power to win souls for Christ.  The Lord saves whom He will, but as Christians we must proclaim the Gospel as He gives us opportunity, we must pray for the lost, and we must place our confidence in Jesus Christ to change hearts as only He is able to do.

    Cleaning House
Jesus’ cleansing of the temple tells us much about his person and work. His authority as God the Son is on display, in bringing judgement upon false religion and hypocrisy; the temple itself points to the ultimate work of Christ, bringing people into the presence of God.

Signs: The Pattern & Purpose of Miracles
There are a number of misconceptions about miracles, which typically come in two extremes: embarrassment over affirming miracles, or downplaying their majesty. Miracles are a direct act of God in the natural world, essential to the Christian faith, which serve to validate the message of redemption.

    Come, And You Will See
As Jesus calls his first disciples, the testimony about who he is remains consistent. He is the obedient Lamb of God, the great teacher, the Messiah, the fulfillment of the Old Testament, the Son of God, the King of Kings, the only way to God, and the Son of Man; God Himself.

John the Baptist’s testimony regarding Christ ought to be ours. We humbly tell others about Christ, tell about the work of Christ, and point people away from ourselves, that they may follow Jesus.

    The Word Made Flesh!
At the incarnation God the Son truly, fully put on humanity. He identified with us completely, withstood every temptation perfectly, and bore the punishment, as a man, for us. This is why He is the only means of our salvation.
