An honest worker should expect to receive the wages due their labor. The Bible uses this same principle regarding sin and warns rebellious sinners to expect just payment from God for their sin, for the wages of sin is death.

At the height of the old covenant, David confidently penned Psalm 110, knowing that God would subdue the enemy. David, however, looked to One greater than himself who would destroy the enemies of God, either by wrath or grace. He looked to the Priestly King!
